Transportation

It is our hope that for attendees to the Synchronicity Festival, the journey to and from Shirley Macey Park will be an important and enjoyable part of their Festival experience.  There are many ways to get to the Festival, including by boat, foot, bike, bus, and car (or a combination of these options!).  Below is an overview of the transportation options available.

Public Transportation:

Visit the BC Transit website to find the schedule for buses going to and from the Langdale Ferry Terminal.  Bus fare on the Sunshine Coast is $2.25 for adults, $1.75 for seniors, and $1.75 for students  (to grade 12, with a valid Student ID).  Buses on the Sunshine Coast are equipped with bike racks, accommodating two bikes per bus.  Buses on the Sunshine Coast are low-floor buses and provide wheelchair and scooter accessible service.  For more information about accessibility, visit the BC Transit website.

The closest bus stop to Shirley Macey Park is directly in front of Elphinstone Secondary School, at 840 Gibsons Way.  From there, Shirley Macey Park is a 2.1 km walk.

Walking directions from Elphinstone Secondary School to Shirley Macey Park are as follows (for a map, follow this link):

  • Walk down the hill on Gibsons Way, towards North Road.
  • Turn left on North Road.
  • Turn right on Reed Road.
  • Turn left on Chamberlin Road.  Shirley Macey Park will be on your right (watch for Festival signage!).

Cycling to the Festival:

A bike lock-up area will be provided on-site at the Festival.  There will also be a prize draw for all cyclists to the event.

If you plan on riding your bike onto the ferry, visit the BC Ferries website for information about ticket prices and procedures.  Buses on the Sunshine Coast leaving from the Langdale Ferry Terminal are equipped with bike racks, accommodating two bikes per bus.  The bike ride from the BC Ferries Langdale Terminal to Shirley Macey Park is 3.8 km.

Cycling directions from the BC Ferries Langdale Terminal to Shirley Macey Park are as follows (for a map, follow this link):

  • Head straight off the ferry ramp and turn left onto Marine Drive.
  • Continue for 350 m and make a slight right onto North Road.
  • Continue on North Road and then turn left on Chamberlin Road.  Shirley Macey Park will be on your right (watch for Festival signage!).

Note: be prepared for an uphill ride!

Taking the Ferry to Gibsons:

Ferries to the Sunshine Coast run between Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver and the Langdale Ferry Terminal, just outside of Gibsons.  Visit the BC Ferries website for up-to-date information on sailing times and fees.

Driving to the Festival:

Shirley Macey Park is approximately a 6km drive from the BC Ferries Langdale Terminal.  The parking lot inside the park will be closed, but festival parking will be available along Chamberlin Road.

Driving directions from the BC Ferries Langdale Terminal to Shirley Macey Park are as follows (for a map, follow this link):

  • Head straight off the ferry ramp and continue straight on the Sunshine Coast Highway.
  • Turn left on Stewart Rd./Sunshine Coast Hwy/BC 101 N.
  • Turn left onto North Rd.
  • Take the first right onto Chamberlin Rd.  Shirley Macey Park will be on your left.

Driving directions from downtown Sechelt to Shirley Macey Park are as follows (for a map, follow this link):

  • Head towards Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast Hwy.
  • Turn left on North Rd./Sunshine Coast Hwy./BC 101 S.
  • Turn right onto Reed Rd.
  • Take the 2nd left onto Chamberlin Rd. Shirley Macey Park will be on your right.
